Development, design and production.
Anke Loh, 2023-2024
Out of Pluto worked hand in hand with Anke Loh to develop a new version of her Embroidered Touch project, which she describes as follows:
With an array of pre-recorded sound palettes to choose from, users can immerse themselves in a personalized experience as they play the touch-sensitive surface of the embroidered textile, creating a unique soundscape in real time with each touch. Simultaneously, corresponding moving imagery will appear on the device’s screen, as users swirl, tap and swipe their hands over the Embroidered Touch textile’s surface.
With the help of Christine Shallenberg for the technical aspects, Jakub Pawlikowski for the production of the microprocessor cards and Peter Maunu for the music, new textiles connected to an application for phones and tablets have been created. Following an initial demonstration at EXPO Chicago, the first version of the application has been put online for iOS and Android, and the first textiles will shortly be available for sale at https://embroidered-touch.com.
